Conversion of Dormitory to Training Center of Cultural Heritage Managers, Tomioka Silk Mill, Japan

Both existing buildings of designed Training Center are situated on the southern edge of the Tomioka Silk Mill above the steep river side. It is former dormitory for female workers and a house of the first manager of the factory Paul Brunat. Preparation of registration of the factory as UNESCO World Heritage Site and its subsequent functional transformation raises the need for trained professionals. Lot of organizations from surrounding area are now studying topic of the Tomioka Silk Mill. Thematic lectures about silk industry, history of the Tomioka Silk Mill and related sites, seminars, workshops and training of guides and other voluntaries, preparation and discussion of propagation of the mill, international conferences of experts of industrial heritage and silk production from all around the world and experts from Gunma prefecture, exhibitions and other events could take place in the new Training Center. Dormitory Rooms for seminars, lectures and offices for temporary teachers are situated in the southern block of former dormitory. In the other block, rooms for short-term accommodation stay in original condition of traditional Japanese style. Connection of waterfront and training center has been achieved through increase of entrances into the training rooms and restroom from the south of the building. This narrow strip of ground is settled by elevated terraces and green areas planted with bamboo. Building of the training center expanded to a new hygienic block on the west side. Part of it slightly exceeds above the river and creates observation terrace and it also makes the walking passage wider. Green atrium is situated between two blocks of dormitory. Brunat House Brunat house is designed for conferences and administration. The first manager has used this object as residence only a few years and then its use was changed to a school for workers of the mill. In addition to the main hall there is entrance foyer, dressing room, sanitary facilities and cafe bar. Administrative body of the Tomioka Silk Mill – the Tomioka Silk Mill Division is situated in the western block of Brunat house. Other activities of this office are: area and building maintenance, care of visitors, guides training, research and works related to world heritage registration. They also collaborate with Gunma government office World Herritage Registration Promotion Division and other experts. Waterfront Waterfront with southern sunlight is ideal for creating place for relax connected to surrounding functions of museum and training centre. Relax waterfront should offer calm corners, opportunity for sitting or lying on the southern sunlight and also nice viewpoint on the mountains surrounding the Tomioka city. It should connect Japanese nature with industrial environment and western style, as it was in the time of establishment of the factory. Training Centre should meet the needs of local organization and also experts from all around the world. Therefore it should be mix of Japanese and western culture.

Diploma thesis deals with design documentation of training centerm determined to services for public. Building is situated in Královéhradecký region, in Náchod, cadastral district Náchod, located on 1150/1, 1151/6 and 1152/1 building plots with 1949 m2 area. Trainig center has three floors. In the first floor there is nursery school and in the second and the third floor there are situated rooms of the training center with administration. Center has wheelchair access and private parking spaces. The building is designed as a brick building with Isover insulation system with ventilated facade. Vertical supporting structure is from KM Beta Sendwix and Spiroll ceiling panels – the horizontal supporting structure. The building has not walkeble flat roof structure. Zhe inclination is performed by thermal insulation at a gradient of 3%. For heating there is designed Schiedel Absolut chimney.
A Great House for a Small Town

The subject of this thesis is the conversion and extension of the former School of Industrial High School in Rousínov furniture and expansion of housing for the elderly. School buildings were built in the 70s of the 20th century and today are only partially and temporarily used, and are waiting for its rebirth. The aim of the project is to open the area to people and incorporate it into the daily life of citizens Rousínov. Cinema, restaurants, galleries, clubs and housing - it's all part of the new city center. Already incurred background builds housing for the elderly, which is its location in the heart of a quality place for the next stage of life. By activating these functions is an isolated island in the city center becomes a full-fledged part of the public space Rousínov. The first stage is the conversion of schools to the cultural and community center. Slogan conversion is cleansing. Clean up objects from unnecessary structures and layers of history. Show support structure and inject new energy into the buildings. The construction itself enables spatial play of vertical and horizontal surfaces. Space clubrooms and galleries are open to the second floor, housing units are designed as maisonettes. Everything is simple and functional. It remains only the pace of life, which objects to bring residents Rousínov. As a next stage will be created in the area of housing for seniors. Demand for housing for the elderly is still high and it's no different in Rousínov and surroundings. In the House of care service that is not on the edge and the capacity is insufficient. Therefore, the potential use of school premises in the town center is a suitable solution for senior housing. The proposal does not find one universal solution for all, but aims to promote the uniqueness and future residents based on their individual needs. Therefore, there is no one big complex retirement home, but three different objects according to the degree of autonomy of the population.

The content of the business project is to analyze the situation of HyposNet Ltd., describing its activities, products and services. The reason for the processing of a business plan is the establishment of training center at the residence.
Mixed-use building

Diploma thesis is in form of building documentation for construction according to valid regulations. Designed mixed-use building is located in Zlín on plots no. 2865/3, 2865/22, 2865/23 and 2866. Building has shape of letter L, it has three above-ground floors and undergroud garage. Building has three separate parts – part with flats of sizes 3+kk and 4+kk, training centre and community centre. Each part has different number of above-ground floors. New building is detached house with maximum height 10,48 m. Object is constructed with ceramics blocks. It has ventilated facade and flat green roof. Ceiling is designed as cast-in-place reinforced slab. Material for foundations is waterproof concrete. Diploma thesis also includes assessment of thermal technology, acoustic and fire safety.
Use of rainwater in the company premises

This diploma thesis deals with rainwater harvesting system in the company premises and the design of plumbing system in the newly built training center and storage hall. The new standard EN 16941-1 is described in the teoretical part. This standard deals with the use of rainwater. The experimental part solves the measurement of the non-potable water in this area. In the practical part, the acquired information is applied to the newly built object in the company premises. A project is created in the form of a technical report and drawing documentation for the use of rainwater and plumbing system.
Training Center

Thesis "Training Center" is processed in the form of project documentation containing all requirements according to applicable regulations. The designed facility is located in Babice Svitavou. The building is divided into several zones, which provide visitors with all comfort. The center includes also accommodation facilities with a restaurant area and a relaxation area. It is a brick masonry building roofed with flat roof, which is divided into four usable floors. Horizontal ceiling constructions are designed from pre-tensioned ceiling panels. The project also includes specialization in the field.
Training center

This thesis deals with design and project construction of the administrative building of the training center in Hradec Kralove. It is a brick, partial basement building with three floors. The building has a plan shape resembling the letter H and is vertically graded into separate blocks forming the individual floors. Part of the basement is located in the central part of the plan. The building is covered with a flat roof in combination with walkable terraces on each floor. The building will be insulated outer contact system of mineral wool in combination with a ventilated façade of cement slabs vynášených aluminum grate.
